![]() ![]() Once you get the knack of it, you’ll start realizing PaintShop Photo Pro is actually a very powerful image editor. Our advice here is to spend as much time as necessary customizing it to your needs and, of course, trying out all the program’s buttons and menus. PaintShop Photo Pro features a sleek, dark interface that can be quite confusing during the first few minutes of usage. It has so many different windows, palettes and toolbars that it feels a bit overwhelming. The newest version of PaintShop Photo Pro includes all the tools you need to view, manage and edit your images, plus a vast collection of filters, effects and other elements that let you go creative with your photos.Maybe this generous selection of editing tools is responsible for PaintShop Photo Pro's lengthy installation process. PaintShop Photo Pro is the new name of Paint Shop Pro, one of the most popular and powerful photo editors out there. Some of the pros of npp for me: spell check, handles utf-8 well (important even in English if you care about proper typography), it reopens with all the documents you had open (at least in windows 8+), Emmet plugin, Explorer file browser plugin (though it makes it look even less elegant), multiple file find/replace (Regex makes it more powerful though I find that very nonintuitive and you should backup files when doing a wildcard replace across files), file Compare plugin.Complete graphics editor for all levels of ability Adding Emmet makes it like Sublime-you can use a similar color scheme (though npp will always seem more bulky). It does a lot so it has a bit of a learning curve. I resisted Notepad++ at first, but now I'm using Grunt and npp is my editor. I tried Corel PaintShop Pro X2 and hated it (though someone else here likes X6 so maybe it improved). I went from psp5 to 8 and didn't go back once I got used to it. ![]() I still use psp8 on windows 10 with no problems (occasionally crashes). ![]()
